Online, in person and travelling abroad
I offer online lessons to students in London and abroad, particularly students in Hong Kong and Singapore, who plan to move to the U.K. for secondary school.
I work with students in person in the north London area.
I also travel abroad to work with students living in other countries, or on short-term holidays, especially during the summer holidays.
Lessons and longevity
For maximum progress, I work with students at least once or twice a week for an intensive period working up to entrance exams and keep to consistent times and days of the week. Each lesson is usually a minimum of 1.5 hours. More intensive sessions can be up to 3 hours, including breaks.
Working together closely and consistently means I get to know families very well and develop an important bond with students and parents. Over the years, I have stayed on working with many students after their initial exams, as well as going on to work with younger siblings. Being the family tutor and seeing siblings grow up and develop through various stages and ages, has been an extremely special and rewarding experience for all.
Trips and experiences
As a long-standing tutor, I often take students on trips and outings at the end of an intensive period to celebrate our progress and success. Some of these have included Go Ape high ropes, professional basketball matches and visits to a wide variety of museums, exhibitions and bookshops.
I also meet up with students who I work with online where possible; I believe it is important to have in person interactions and experiences together to nurture our connection and help the online working relationship become more meaningful.
