Hi, I’m Anne-Marie…

I grew up in Dublin by the mountains and the sea, but also spent part of my childhood in Melbourne, Australia. Being a member of the Scouts from a young age, I have always been a very outdoorsy, active and sociable person: I love walking, hiking, running, swimming and have played basketball since I was 7 years old. I also love music and languages; I speak French fluently and have been learning Arabic over the past ten years.

I consider myself a global citizen and am passionate about education and humanitarianism. I have worked in several different contexts internationally, including teaching English in vulnerable communities in Kolkata, India and in the West Bank, Palestine. For five years,  I worked in large state primary schools in Birmingham, where I taught classes of over 30 children with diverse needs. I have loved and learnt so much from all of these experiences and the amazing children I have worked with around the world.

Now that I live in London, my favourite things to do include discovering new restaurants, parks and running routes and enjoying theatre, arts and cultural events. My friends and family are very important to me. I am also a passionate vegan and care deeply about animal welfare and the environment. I love cooking and trying out new recipes - savoury and sweet!
